Master's Program
The Master's program can last up to 24 months (minimal 1 year). In the first semester, the regular student must initially take a Leveling course in Mathematics Applied to Chemical Engineering.
After completing the Leveling course, the Regular Student must take 11 credits in mandatory courses and 6 credits in elective subjects courses, totaling 17 credits in courses. Credits in mandatory and elective courses must be completed within the first 12 months.
Candidates whose mother tongue is not Portuguese must take a proficiency exam in Portuguese and also in English, if the previous education is not in English.
The Master's degree in Chemical Engineering will be awarded to those regular students who complete, within 24 months, the following requirements:
- Complete a minimum of 17 credits in courses;
- Pass the Proficiency Exams - Portugueses and English (if the previous education is not in English);
- Pass the Qualification Exam;
- Pass the Dissertation Defense;
- Publish a complete article in proceedings of scientific events;
- Submit an article for publication in a specialized journal.
In the first academic period, supervisor/advisors present their research proposals to regular Master's students for choosing a dissertation topic and supervisor.
